Enjoyed a birthday dinner here and food was delightful. Had their black pasta with blue crab swimmer topping, catch of the day fish, some steak and a salad to add on the side.
Taste wise 4/5
Price wise 4/5
A little downside is usually a lot of the fancy Italian places I have been would give bread sticks and vinegar oil dip for free, but it's not the case here. You have to pay for everything😁 except the free candle on our dessert order (+1pt)
Service was friendly although the server just automatically opened a second bottle of sparkling water without asking for our confirmation so we just had to pay for it😂
Overall, it was ok for a casual birthday dinner.
All dishes were balanced and rich in flavour! Standouts were the crab casarecce nero and lamb ragu pasta - both cooked to Al dente perfection! The Monte Carlo ice cream "sandwich" was just so delightful too; rhubarb sauce was perfect to cut through the sweetness. The grapefruit and Hugo spritz were a perfect way to cleanse the palate! Amazing food guys! Definitely recommend.
Very busy restaurant. Seems understaff for service. Waited at least 10 mins to have someone to service.
The portion is just right. If gets a bit hungry, recommend to order appetite or dessert.
This experience could have been so much more enjoyable had they not served such small mains, charged for bread, and opened a second bottle of sparkling water without approval.
The food had a nice flavour, just not enough of the food, if only they served food like they know how to charge it would have been very nice.
NEVER AGAIN, fyi if you increase your serving portions and at least attempt to give value for money - I would happily return, but till then won't be back.
Excellent food, excellent service.
We were in a hurry because of a booking for a show. The staff were very helpful suggesting food that would be available quickly and ensuring everything was served on time. We had the risotto special with lobster and the fish dish with three types of fish, and finished the meal with a chocolate and cherry ice-cream dessert. All three dishes exceeded our expectations and were excellent. The wine list was also quite good, with a good range of wines at various price points.
Highly recommended.
Best ever lunch. So good we went back the next day. Exceptional service, incredible food. Would definitely recommend.
Came here for dinner for the first time. Nice restaurant, good vibe, in a good location on Hutt Street.
Booked a table online and had to enter credit cards details so that an $80 fee could be charged in case of a no show.
Service was okay, waiters were friendly and attentive.
Drinks, Aperol Spritz were good but the glass was only half full with huge ice cube pieces (too much ice honestly).
Food was good. For starters we had the scallops and the potato sourdough bread. Both quite nice, only 3 scallops however so it was a small serve.
For mains we tried the bucatini rabbit ragu pasta and the agnolotti with smoked tomato sugo. Both mains we thought were quite small in quantity comparing to other restaurants and the price charged (around $40 each). They were tasty and well cooked but nothing amazing.
For dessert we shared a tiramisu which was average, not bad but again nothing special.
Overall, a decent place to try if you like Italian food but we wouldn’t come back.
Staff were professional, friendly & helpful. The food was of small amounts & flavoursome. We had a very early sitting at 5.45pm & there were a few tables occupied, but by the time we left(8pm), the restaurant was full.
